COVID-19 Protocols

Dear Sugar River Animal Family,

I am writing to update our wonderful clients on how we’re dealing with COVID-19.  To try and maintain the 6 ft distancing that is being recommended by the CDC and because we can’t control when people are going to pick up medications, food, etc.; on Monday, March 23, 2020 we are going to be moving to curbside service.  Curbside service is going to work as follows:

  • Appointments: Upon arrival you will call us at (603) 865-5532.  A technician or veterinary assistant will come out to your car and gather your pet’s history and bring your pet into the building while you wait in your car.  After the exam is done one of our doctors will either speak to you on the phone or come out to the car to discuss your pet’s examination findings.  When the appointment is over, we will return your pet to your car.
  • For medication and food pick-up: Upon arrival call us at (603) 865-5532 and let us know that you have arrived.  We will bring your medication and/or food out to the car for pick up.  If you call ahead we will have everything waiting for you and it will help speed up the process if you are in a rush.

We are still offering telemedicine appointments for those that do no want to leave their house and are concerned about their pets.  These appointments can be scheduled with our client service representatives and are an option for pets that have had an examination in the last 365 days.  The cost of these exams is $62.

For clients that need to schedule end of life appointments and Dr. MacLean’s acupuncture appointments will still be allowed inside the building, but will need to call upon arrival, have not left New England in the last 14 days and need to wear a mask in the building.

We ask that anyone who may be feeling unwell, have a cough, fever, etc. stay at home to help protect our other clients and staff.

It is still business as usual with some modifications on how we’re doing appointments.  Our top priority is keeping clients and staff safe while still providing care to our patients.  We want to thank everyone that continues to support Sugar River Animal Hospital and if anyone has questions, concerns, etc. please feel free to reach us at (603) 865-5532 or [email protected]

Warm regards,

Dr. Catherine MacLean & The Sugar River Animal Hospital Staff
